All of those things are legal under our current Net Neutrality rules, so long as the ISP’s are up-front about them. And since they’re used as a way to hook new subscribers, companies use them in advertisements and make them clear to consumers. I expect to see far more of this; the practice would keep on growing even if the FCC wasn’t going to gut NN today. Unless we tamp down on these deals & on telecom/ISP/cable company mergers, this will keep occuring and people’s internet usage will keep getting influenced. Deals like this are the carrot; slow download times are the stick.
