How I feel is not a prescription for how the world should be. A feeling is merely a feeling. I’m glad he’s dead in the same way I’m glad my rapist is dead. I do not believe rapists or stalkers should get the death penalty or be punished in dehumanizing ways. I can still speak to those feelings even if they are messy. Victims have all kinds of reactions and none are inherently bad. What we do with those feelings is what matters. I’m not gonna go out and kill any stalkers.
