I appreciate that you are trying to be helpful, but this is condescending advice. Disabled people are frequently infantilized, and telling me that my choice of words is “immature” and shows a “lack of control” of my emotions is a really clear example of that. I’m not a child. I’m a professional adult with a disability, who chose the words I used carefully, to connect with a lay audience. I write academic papers for a living. I am very capable of restraining my fuck words.
