I list some of my sources at the end, but you’re absolutely right that it could be better — I didn’t think to save everything off the Wallace listserv back in 2011/2 when I encountered it. If I pitch this piece anywhere else, I’ll have the time/budget to dig it up with specificity. That said, DT Max’s book and Mary Karr’s memoirs are a good start. As is Franzen’s essay about Wallace’s death.
