I think the motivation behind it is awesome, and I think it’s a really bold move, but I’m not sure that it’s fair to the researchers doing the work. I hope that it plays out in a way that is advantageous to them, rather than cutting off their publication options at the knees and limiting their potential prestige in the process. I’m definitely intrigued and excited to see how it goes!
