My gosh, thank you so much for such a wonderful critique. I think you’re right that not only is the term potentially misleading, it also bifurcates two things (toxic masculinity and internalized sexism?) that can’t really be separated. Internalized sexism, I think, might be the better term, and it’s certainly less inflamatory.
