Low motivation, not seeing the point of something, needing or wanting a “lazy sunday” in the more neutral sense totally does. And yes, lacking motivation can have negative consequences. I think a cluttered room may not be harmful and thus may not need us to worry about it — some people thrive on visual chaos. But a room full of rotting food absolutely would require both kid and parent to look a little deeper and figure out why things aren’t getting done.
