Since you, too, are a scientist, I wonder why you feel comfortable throwing out diagnoses of people in your personal life and public figures, both of whom you are absolutely not positioned to be able to assess or label in those ways. As I've written, I'm Autistic, and for the most part I do not experience empathy. My own experiences however have taught me it is incredibly dangerous to brand certain groups of people as fundamentally sick, evil, etc. Please educate yourself on the many very painful experiences of marginalization that those of us who do not experience empathy routinely go through. You don't have to forgive your mom for how she acted, I'm exceedingly clear about individual feelings about personal relationships being totally irrelevant to the point of my piece, which is about systematic and widespread oppression of demonized groups.
