Thank you for this comment Laurence, and I am so sorry you have gone through so much ignorance and coercion too. I think poly people have a very parallel experience to what I have outlined here as well -- people talk about poly folks as if they are all straight, and that their struggles don't belong in the queer community and aren't part of the fight for queer liberation, and to me that simply just is not true. Poly people are excluded and marginalized; they're made to feel broken and sick, and they are manipulated into living in ways that don't suit them. To me that is just as egregious as the other oppressions other queer people experience. Yet, like asexuals and aromantics, their concerns are mocked or invalidated. It sucks. Keep being you, and keep being as vocal about it as you can -- it's wonderful to be pansexual and poly.
