The whole reason the story you’re sharing is noteworthy is because it is so rare for someone to do that. When someone appears to be ignoring the writer of this piece, which do you think tends to be the more common cause: them being so phone blind they’d also crash into a pole, or racism? As white people we need to be less fragile about these critiques and stop looking for rare, random excuses for really common behaviors. 9 times out of 10 it’s just us being racist.
