This was just what I needed to read after a long family-oriented weekend of getting misgendered and being bathed in gendered expectations regarding my relationship, child-bearing age, unmarried status, etc. I often feel like I took “too long” to figure some of this stuff out, but of course that’s only relative to younger Millennials who had exposure to nonbinary identities and trans issues from an even younger age than I did. I’m glad that I’m on the right track, and I’m always really motivated and supported when I hear comments like yours, reminding me that people like me have always existed and always will, and that I’m not being “too much” by asserting who I am. Thank you.
