Virtually no schools require professors use TWs.
Virtually no schools require professors use TWs. Even hyper-liberal Oberlin shut down a student request for a formal TW policy last year. The main reason they decided not to institute one is that the logistics of it is tricky. I generally agree. However, I think university departments should team up with disability service offices to inform faculty about how TWs function and why they are used (many profs just don’t know), and to advocate for students who are having trouble getting the accommodations they need.
